AI agent for building tradespeople in the Val-d'Oise: everything around the quote

Équipage IA installs, for tradespeople and small building firms in the Val-d'Oise, an AI agent that handles everything around the quote: enquiries arriving by email, through a web form or from a lead platform, the mandatory details and the ten-year liability certificate to attach, and the quotes that never got an answer. Pricing stays with you, in the software you already use. The agent prepares, you approve before anything is sent. We come to your site or your office in the 95, and everything starts with a 20 to 30 minute discovery audit.

Twenty to thirty minutes. No commitment.

What does an AI agent do for a building tradesperson?

It deals with the written work that piles up in the evening, after the job. In practice, the agent reads each incoming enquiry and extracts what you need to price it: type of work, site address, photos, requested timing, contact details. It flags what is missing and drafts the reply asking the customer for it. Once your quote is done, it checks that the quote carries the details required for repair, maintenance and call-out work, and that the ten-year liability certificate is attached. It then keeps the list of quotes sent and drafts follow-ups on the dates you set. Nothing reaches a customer without your approval.

A building tradesperson's desk at the end of the day: on screen, work enquiries received by email and web form, sorted, each with its missing information flagged.

What it does not do: visit the site, take measurements, set a price or a margin, grant a discount. Those decisions are yours. For price enquiries in general, outside the building trades, the approach is described on our enquiries and quotes agent page.

What do AI tools for tradespeople offer today?

Mostly quoting software that prices a job from a voice note or a photo. On 18 October 2026 we went through the first ten results of a French search on AI for building trade quotes, based on their search snippets.

What we notedOut of 10 results
Quoting software that replaces the tool you use now8
Start from dictation, a photo or the site visit9
Handle the enquiry arriving by email or form, before pricing0
Mention the mandatory details of a quote1
Speak to tradespeople in a specific département0

These tools meet a real need, pricing fast from the site, and if that is yours, quoting software is enough. Our work starts elsewhere: upstream, when an incomplete enquiry waits two days before anyone reads it, and downstream, when the quote has gone out and nobody follows it up. The agent works with your current software. If that software offers no official access, we tell you during the audit instead of working around it.

What must a building quote include in France?

For repair, maintenance and call-out work on buildings, a written quote before the work is mandatory and its content is set by a ministerial order of 24 January 2017, summarised by Service Public Entreprendre, the French government's business information site. Trades covered include masonry, plumbing, electrical work, joinery, locksmithing, roofing, insulation, plastering, painting and wall and floor coverings.

A building quote next to a checklist: each mandatory detail is ticked, and one line in orange flags the ten-year liability insurance certificate still missing from the attachments.

The agent reads each quote before it goes out and flags anything missing from this list:

  • the date, the company's name and address, the customer's name and the site address;
  • the exact nature of the work and a detailed breakdown of each service and product, with quantity and unit price;
  • the hourly labour rate including VAT and how time is counted;
  • travel costs, if any;
  • the total excluding and including VAT, with the VAT rate;
  • how long the offer is valid, and whether the quote itself is charged or not.

It also checks that the certificate for the décennale, the ten-year liability insurance every French builder must hold, is attached: Service Public Entreprendre states that it must accompany the quote and the invoice. This check is a proofread, not legal advice: for your own situation, your trade federation or the CMA, the regional chamber of trades, remains the right contact.

Why a page for tradespeople in the Val-d'Oise?

Because the trades weigh heavily in the département and we work there every day. The Chambre de métiers et de l'artisanat d'Île-de-France counts 36,608 trade businesses in the Val-d'Oise in 2024. Many are small building firms where the same person prices, installs and answers the emails.

We travel across the whole département, from Cergy to Sarcelles and from Argenteuil to the Montmorency valley, with no travel charge for the discovery audit and during the two-week trial run. Being there matters more here than elsewhere: the task shows better in the van or at the corner desk where quotes get written than on a video call. What we do for other businesses in the département is on our AI agency in the Val-d'Oise page.

Who decides what, the agent or the tradesperson?

The agent prepares and checks; the tradesperson decides anything that commits the business. That line is written down before we build.

How does it work with a tradesperson?

Five steps, one task first, and no change of software. A first agent is delivered in two to three weeks, trial run included.

Trial run at a tradesperson's workshop: on a tablet resting on the workbench, the tradesperson compares the reply drafted by the agent with the one actually sent to a customer the week before.
  1. The discovery audit, on site or by video: your enquiry channels, a few recent quotes, your software, what must stay with you. You leave with a written opinion.
  2. The written scope: what the agent does on its own, what goes through you, the sources it may use, and a fixed-price quote you approve before any paid work.
  3. The build: read-only access to the mailbox and software first, the mandatory-details checklist, reply templates, tests on your past enquiries.
  4. The two-week trial run: the agent drafts without sending anything, we compare with what you actually replied and adjust on site.
  5. Ongoing support: monthly adjustments, no commitment, one month's notice.

The common framework, with hosting and third-party tools in your name, is on our offers page.

When is an agent not worth it?

When almost all your enquiries come by phone, or when you get only a few a month. In the first case the agent has nothing to read; in the second, the time saved does not justify the project. If all you need is to price faster from the site, quoting software will do better than an agent. We say so during the audit, before any quote.

FAQ

Do I need to change my quoting software?

No. The agent works with the software you already use, and with your mailbox. If there is no official access to your software, the agent works only with the mailbox and the files you give it, and we tell you from the audit.

Can the agent price my jobs?

It sets no price and no quantity. It can find an item already priced in your price library and suggest it, with its source, but the final figure is always yours.

My enquiries come from lead platforms: does that work?

If the platform forwards enquiries by email, yes: the agent reads them like the others. If you have to log in to see them and the platform offers no official access, we do not work around its terms.

Does the mandatory-details check replace legal advice?

No. The agent compares your quote with the list published by Service Public Entreprendre and flags the gaps. For a specific case, insurance, subcontracting or public contracts, ask your trade federation, the CMA or an adviser.

Do you come to sites in the Val-d'Oise?

Yes, across the département and the rest of the Île-de-France region, with no travel charge for the discovery audit and during the two-week trial run. The agency's registered office is at 47 rue Vivienne, Paris; day-to-day work is done from the Val-d'Oise.

I work alone: is my business too small?

What counts is repetition, not headcount. If written enquiries and follow-ups take you several hours every week, the audit is worth it. With a few enquiries a month, we will tell you it is not useful.
